The Bircham Bag is an elegant, serviceable bag reminiscent of the styles of the 1940s but with Charlie’s Aunt’s signature asymmetrical twist. It features panels on the bag body and flap with curved seams and is made in two contrasting fabrics. It is trimmed with a flourish of buttons on the flap. The Bircham Bag is named after the Norfolk village where there is a windmill, built in 1846, still producing flour today. The Bircham Bag is a neat size and is suitable for everyday use. It is suited to anything from tweeds paired with corduroy, moleskin or velvet to heavy linens or printed fabrics. It has an interior patch pocket. The Bircham Bag’s approximate finished dimensions are: Height 10” (25cm), width at widest point 13.5” (34cm), darted base width 2”/5cm approximately and strap length approx. 38” (97cm). Eight pages of instructions plus full-size pattern pieces.
