Kit included in the cost of the workshop – Fabrics, Sashiko Needles, Sashiko Threads, carbon paper.

Using a variety of fabrics (they will vary from kit to kit!)  Students will learn the Sashiko & Boro Stitching Techniques to make the purse, with zip (already inserted), & the traditional ‘Flower’ decoration for the zip pull.  Lining fabric also supplied in kit.

Students will be given a brief history of Sashiko & Boro Stitching, before learning how to deal with the skeins of Sashiko Threads (especially useful for the 100mt skeins!)    Final finishing off will need to be completed at home due to time constraints.
Bring a basic sewing kit with you (needles / pins / scissors / thread for tacking).
