Wow - where did March go? 
April already - clocks have gone back - so it must be autumn.

Quilt As You Go Demonstration & Sew-A-Long

For experienced quilters - Tuesday 3rd May - 9am - 12pm
This is for any quilter who wishes to join already
quilted blocks together using the sashing method. 
You will need 4 - 6 or more patchwork blocks that
have been 'sandwiched' & prequilted &
enough fabric for sashing to join the blocks together.
(Or this can be purchased in store.) 
If you have not tried this method before -
please come & give it a try.  Limited to 5 people only. 
Call in or phone 03 544 7832 to book - $20 per person.

Drop In Sessions are still on the go
Mondays & Thursdays - 10am & 1pm - 3pm
Cost $20 per session - tea & coffee available.
Trudy is on hand if you need some advice with your project -
but still needs to attend to customers. 
If you just want some 'time out' from everyday things
and work on a project with like minded people -
you are more than welcome.

 I have completed 2 so far...

 Our Sashiko Block of the Month is now 'Live'!

The finished quilt is now hanging up in the shop.

Using one of Susan Briscoes' Kamon Panels
on Indigo Navy Tsumugi fabric,

plus various patchwork blocks.
Suitable for confident beginners and upwards.

The Sashiko Block of the Month will cost $54 per mail out –
to keep postage costs down we will be
sending out 2 Blocks at a time. 
We are also offering the option of purchasing the
full kit at $270.00 - if you can't wait for the mail outs each month. 
That way you can choose which Block to do and even change
things round to suit your own layout preference.
Purchase from the shop or online 

Those who live locally are more than welcome to pick up their Block packs
 from the shop by prior arrangement
the Block packages will NOT be left in the shop –
they are kept in my studio for safety.

 Please do read the Terms & Conditions before signing up
for the Sashiko Block of the Month series. 
You need to be able to commit to the full package
as we cannot sell ‘parts’ of the Block.

have now been organized.

but a $20 deposit is required to secure your place. 
Deposit is non-refundable if you cancel or are a no show
& we are unable to fill your place but refundable
in full if we have to cancel. 
Please Note -  We will  reschedule classes –
 a lot of preparation beforehand goes into running a class,
(the prototype / the instructions / making up the kits - to name a few)
 and it is such a shame if all that effort was to no avail.
Please note - as all kits are made up in advance
 do not ask us to change items on the day.

‘Quilt As You Go’ Beginners Quilting Classes –
proving to be very popular!

New Dates 2022!
Which again, are filling up as fast as we organize them!

Dates of Classes:
28th May - Block top right hand side
11th June - Block middle right hand side

New dates will be arranged soon for the other blocks
6 x 12" Patchwork Blocks made over 6 classes
using the 'Quilt As You Go' technique to make a cosy lap quilt. 
If you just wish to attend 1 or 2 classes they
could be used for tote bag fronts / cushions / placemats etc. 
The 6 different blocks will cover a range of
patchwork & quilting techniques -
including an applique session.

Tutor - Trudy Jones
8 students maximum.
10am prompt start till 4pm'ish

Kit included in the cost of each class - $60. 
Please note - the fabrics pictured are the ones
you will be using for each block.
 Bring a basic sewing kit with you - needles / pins / scissors -
along with your sewing machine in good working order. 
Sewing machine available to borrow for the class -
no charge - but needs to be booked in advance! 
Tea & Coffee available but please bring your lunch. 

 Boro Inspired Purse (with a touch of Sashiko) Class

made up in advance!

Kit included in the cost of each class - $55.
Bring a basic sewing kit with you
(thread for tacking / needles / pins / scissors) 

All fabrics, Sashiko thread & Sashiko needles
will be included in your kit to stitch a small purse. 
Along with a sample piece of pre printed Sashiko fabric to stitch,
which could be included in your Boro Purse! 
Final construction will have to be completed later
due to time constraints.
Zip will be inserted - ready for your Boro Stitching. 
Students will learn how to deal with Sashiko thread skeins,
how to stitch Sashiko economically,
plus lots of other tips & tricks to stitch your work. 

We are taking deposits for the next delivery of this
beautiful book - due April - $30 deposit -
to secure your copy - $60 total price -

I am already onto my next embroidery from the book!

14th May - it has proved to be very popular!

Kit included in the cost of each class - $60
Using a piece of black & white Designer Fabric –
‘Illustrations’ by Alli K – students will learn a number of
embroidery stitches
to transform the fabric to colour! 
A practice piece will be stitched first to learn the
embroidery stitches used, before delving into the printed fabric. 
All threads, fabrics, needles and a bound embroidery hoop
will be provided in the kit. 
The finished result could be mounted permanently
in the hoop
(I painted the hoop with red artists acrylic paint after the embroidery
was finished) or mounted on a canvas block…
used as the front of a cushion…
even as part of a garment!
Tea & Coffee will be available but please bring your lunch.
